Joshua Tree

If you haven’t been able to tell, Spencer and I are HUGE fans of National Parks. So, it’s no surprise that we carved out an afternoon during our most recent trip to California to spend a few hours in Joshua Tree. Of course, I would suggest spending more than the 4 hours we did (we’re camping next time!) but if you have an afternoon while in Palm Springs it’s only a short hour ride away. The scenery is gorgeous and very much other worldly. You feel like you’re on a different planet! Totally worth doing if you’re tired of laying by the pool – yes, that sometimes is exhausting (ha!).

Glass Beach

I had heard about Glass Beach through Spencer multiple times. I mean this is a beach that is covered in sea glass!!! We realized that it was located in Fort Bragg – only 1.5 hours away from Ukiah, where we were going to for a wedding. We got in our car at around 10 am and were in Fort Bragg by no later than 11:30. The beach was the former site of a garbage dump that closed in 1943 so you will find beautiful shards of worn down glass bottles and china all over. We were also lucky enough to spot some seals (sadly not pictured!).

TBH, every time I come to San Francisco I try to hate it a little. Partly because I know I’m secretly in love with this city but logistically could never live here. Don’t get me wrong,  New York will always be #1 in my heart. However, when I experience days in San Francisco like today I wish oh so badly I had chosen a different industry.

We drove from SF to Ukiah for a wedding weekend but on the way up we took advantage of the sunny weather to visit the the Marin Headlands. Located just outside the city it’s the best place to get stunning views of the Golden Gate Bridge and the city.

With the amount of travel I was doing in early Fall, weddings, work, etc. I have been running around like a crazy person so I haven’t had time to post this super fun photo shoot I did with my uncle.

Now that the weather is cooling off in NYC these pictures make me miss the warm Palm Springs sun. Luckily, in a little over 2 weeks we will be en route to Guadalajara. Another place I hold close to my heart.

Way before Spencer and I started taking pictures together my trusted photographer was my uncle, Jose Becerra. He is one of the most creative, talented, kind and good looking men I know 🙂

Most of my family, including my uncle, live in Palm Springs. I’m lucky enough to have such a wonderful place to call home. It’s the perfect place to decompress when I visit California. This weekend I was fortunate enough to spend some time with my uncle. He, of course, offered to help with the blog. Here are are a few of the shots we took…
